One of the tests that we can perform during a maintenance visit is measuring the “heat of extraction” or “heat of rejection”. This test will tell us how much heat (BTUs/hr) the system is pulling out of the ground and putting into the house during heat mode. Or in the case of cooling, it measures how much heat (BTUs/hr) the system is pulling out of the house and putting in to the ground. When we compare the results with the specifications of the system, we can identify how well the system is doing.
