Upon arrival inspected unit and found unit not fully operating outside. Run capacitor tested at 37.67 for compressor circuit during maintenance. Bottom line for recommendation of replacement. I didn’t suggest replacement during visit had not noticed with the number being so close to ok. Replaced run capacitor with 40+5 today and test run cooling. Unit is back up and operational with 18° delta T
Presented two estimates for two different humidifier installs. One for Aprilaire 600M bypass humidifier, and one for Aprilaire 700M fan powered humidifier. Both humidifier types will work with the heat pump system, although the 700M fan powered is recommended as it has less parasitic loss of capacity on the heatpump heating operation due to conditioned air not being recirculating through the hvac system.

Pvc condensation drain line showing history of leaking. None of the pvc fittings are glued which is the most likely culprit of the leaking. Drain line was also clogged and adding to the leakage. Repair drain line to ensure all fittings are properly glued, and repair section of drain line to remove low spot that is causing the clog.

Upon arrival today the system was running and at the set temperature of 74 but had partial ice on the evaporator coil and a suction pressure of 84 PSI with 54 superheat and 10° cooling delta t from 76 to 66 The refrigerant charge and UltraViolet dye leak stop that was injected on July 16th 2025 has leaked out to a point that it is no longer cooling the house The ultraviolet dye and refrigerant oil is very easily visible throughout the entire condensation drain system leaking from the evaporator coil. The actual source of the oil and dye leak could not be pinpointed due to the compact design of the equipment however there is no other components in the vicinity. The indoor air coil needs replaced Recharge 2 lb recycled r410a to achieve 119 PSI suction with 17 superheat for temporary cooling until a new Air coil can be installed Seth will contact Bard GeoTec and prepare an estimate for repairs as soon as possible
Upon arrival found thermostat with code 74 on it. Code comes back to EEV thermistor gas side fault reading outside of range. Inspected EEV plug results below 0.029 m ohms red & blue OL k ohms red & blue 0.361 k ohms white & black 364 m ohms white & black Replacement thermistor will have to be ordered and part will need replaced. 2003 Goodman heat pump system with electric air handler. R22 equipment is low on freon charge with a frozen evaporator coil, line set and suction line King valve outside. Turn off system and thaw evaporator coil, Shop-Vac evaporator drain pan and disassemble drain trap for cleaning Outdoor unit running at 43 PSI suction with 58 superheat Recharge 33 oz of new r422b Low suction pressure, low superheat and low temperature are all indicators of a underperforming evaporator coil. Equipment is running out of life and will need replaced in the very near future. System has been recharged multiple times 33 Oz new r422 b Xantus brand MaxSeal refrigerant leak stop Homeowners are interested in a consultation to prepare for system replacement
System intermittently showing signs of failing TXV. Initial test run showed lower than usual suction pressures and very high head pressure. When head pressure reached approximately 550psi, system was manually shutoff for safety. Inspected indoor coil and txv setup. Txv bulb was secured to suction line. Performed a second test run. System cam on with proper refrigerant pressures during entire 20-30 minutes test. Attempted to see if there was any change in behavior when txv bulb was artificially heated. Poured room temperature water onto txv bulb. Both head and suction pressures slightly lower. After given some time to equalize back out, refrigerant pressures returned to normal. Will have to discuss with other technicians the possible diagnosis.

Discovered low r454b refrigerant. Unit hasn’t been tested since install. Unit is currently cooling but refrigerant is mildly low allowing unit into freeze conditions with slightly poor airflow. Will have to return to balance charge do not have 454b on my van. Returned to frozen coil, furnace speed at 8 calls for 14 (800cfm) set blower speed for cooling and thaw coil, once unit was back operating added less than 1lb r454b to balance subcool to 5°. Washed outdoor coil to prevent further concerns.

My air conditioning stopped working. I called Westin Air and Heating, an LLC company in Westerville, OH. Seth, with that company, came out to diagnose our air conditioning problem. I had previously contacted Rightway, also a local Columbus, Ohio company, who told me my compressor was bad and that they had to order a part. From that point on, they never responded or scheduled a followup appointment. They also never responded to any of my calls, resulting in a lot of frustration. Hence I called Westin Air and Heat on the advice of a friend. Seth identified the problem which was that the compressor was not getting power. He replaced that piece ($118 approx. price vs a new compressor at probably around $1500), and we now have a properly working air conditioning system. Seth was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and honest. I will definitely recommend Westin Air and Heat any time I can. Can't say enough good things about them!
