Upon arrival inspected furnace and found no major concerns. Test ran system by thermostat and unit would only kick on with thermostat maxed out and while holding stat in that position if you let go unit would turn back off. Thermostat is an old mercury thermostat and needs replaced. Remove and replace with T4 battery thermostat, test run furnace and no major concerns with new thermostat. Unit is filthy. Has been running for a long time with no filter. Ac will probably not work and heat may not be consistent. If problems arise in the future we will have to pull the blower assembly and clean it as well as open up the ac coil and clean it. Ac is an old ruud unit and may not be functional to begin with outdoor air too cold to test cooling system

Upon arrival discovered igniter on 2nd floor unit was left unplugged from previous maintenance visit, causing furnace to go into a code E6.3 ignition proving failure. Test ran unit after fixing igniter and no problems occurred after.
Upon arrival inspected furnace and found a dirty filter from 1-27-25 filter is not old enough to need replaced but is dirty and needs replaced. Informed homeowner of heavy buildup at return vents and behind couch for lower return possibly causing excessive buildup. Static pressure with dirty filter 0.99R 0.42S new filter 0.46R 0.66S. Unit will continue to fault with dirty filters. Solution may be expanding filter from 16x25x1 to 1210AA (20x25x4 Popup) increasing filter life and airflow even with clogged filter will be less restrictive
Upon arrival furnace was operating but homeowner stated unit doesn’t run constantly as intended/when needed. Inspected furnace and discovered clogged flu vent, full of twigs and dust. After cleaning vent pipe test ran furnace and unit seems to be running in a much better state. No longer having any issues keeping unit on.

Flush condensation trap and drain lines. 2" pvc flue in good condition and no sign of leaks. 0PPM CO detected during testing in basement. Run test unit in heating mode from thermostat. Delta t of 56F with supply temp of 123F, spec Delta t of 35-65F. Furnace is operating properly, efficiently and ready for Winter.
Investigate ice build up on the outdoor unit. Equipment turned off with no ice upon arrival today. thermostat set to EM heat mode. Test run heat pump, test run test mode of defrost cycle, test run electric heat mode, test refrigerant pressures and line temp. Running refrigerant pressures in heat pump mode of 82 and 330 are relatively normal for 30° outdoor temperature and 73 indoor return air dry bulb. He pump is producing 98° supply temperature and 112 with auxiliary All heating modes are running in good condition at this time, defrost timer is set to 60 minutes

Remove and replace low pressure switch due to becoming stuck shut. Board calls pressure switch shorted error. Fixable by removing switch and reapplying switch after inducer starts. New switch installed and no longer needs manual reset.
Waterlinenon humidifier has split right at the top connection. Cut off 1.5in of hosing where split was and reattach. Test ran to ensure no more leaks. Due to age and condition of hose, replacement is recommended to prevent this issue from happening again. 1/4in rubber hose.

Upon arrival today the thermostat was calling for auxiliary heat at 68 but not running the furnace with an indoor temperature of 62 The thermostat is displaying eight pages worth of gas furnace service codes and outdoor temperature sensor service codes. Since the system was not running at all my original focus was on the gas furnace for today. Resurface flame sensor and wire brush burner tips. Hotwire both low and high stages of LP Gas heating through the W1 and W2 terminals of the furnace to confirm correct operation and temperatures. After clearing all service codes and attempting a test run in heat pump mode the heat pump never turned on after 10 minutes. Homeowner has a sequence of operations and button pushes on the thermostat to get the system to run one time at a time to survive in the house Current homeowners have only been in the house two years and never had a properly functioning system Seth will consult with Justin and follow up with the homeowners asap
Performed heating pmi checked electrical circuit found ecm blower not coming on in heating speed changed motor speed tap and motor does run in med high speed board is good recommend replacing ecm motor
Upon arrival, system is off. After tuning system on, it came on with no unusual noise. After about 10 seconds, the system shut off, but then immediately came back on. Refrigerant pressures during all of this was a stagnant 115psi. Internal mechanism of compressor has failed and is not pumping the refrigerant. System will need a new compressor, or replacement heat pump. Pictures and info uploaded to file to assist in quoting process.
Installed intake drain coupling. Performed maintenance on the furnace. Gas pressure set to 1.3" for low fire and 3.0" for high fire Blew out the condensate trap for the furnace. Suspecting control board is beginning to fail. It was running the inducer without a call for heat from the thermostat. We will send a proposal over for replacing the control board.

My air conditioning stopped working. I called Westin Air and Heating, an LLC company in Westerville, OH. Seth, with that company, came out to diagnose our air conditioning problem. I had previously contacted Rightway, also a local Columbus, Ohio company, who told me my compressor was bad and that they had to order a part. From that point on, they never responded or scheduled a followup appointment. They also never responded to any of my calls, resulting in a lot of frustration. Hence I called Westin Air and Heat on the advice of a friend. Seth identified the problem which was that the compressor was not getting power. He replaced that piece ($118 approx. price vs a new compressor at probably around $1500), and we now have a properly working air conditioning system. Seth was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and honest. I will definitely recommend Westin Air and Heat any time I can. Can't say enough good things about them!
