Water furnace 7 series lower level equipment is experiencing ABC control board intermittent failure. Upon arrival today the color touch screen communicating thermostat was displaying Aurora web link communication errors, the web link itself had one solid green light only with no Wi-Fi connectivity or communication lights illuminated, and the ABC board would not auto disconnect AWL in Aurora configuration setup. It would only display no communications and could not be removed from the list. At the same time the equipment was set to 70° but reading 70.8 and still running on heating speed compressor 4 with blower speed 4. Aid tool fault recall shows 1 x E56 (DROVRCUR) and 1 x E99 system power reset Recommend replacing ABC control board under parts and equipment warranty. Upon arrival inspected furnace and found no major concerns, went to thermostat and cycled heat, system attempted to start up and when gas valve sequenced, the control board started buzzing really loud and it didn’t cycle the valve. Once blower came on buzzing continued and wouldn’t go away, restart cycle and gas valve worked 2nd try but still had buzzing noises and it shut off, then blower continued again. Started tapping on control board in common relay locations and buzzing faded quickly. Restarted system and unit came on properly and started heating. Control board is faulty and should be replaced but the whole furnace is growing close to the point of replacement. Unit has substantially taken on rust damage from air coil drain line and multiple electrical parts have been damaged. Recommend replacement of furnace only ac is newer 17” coil
Upon arrival discovered loose wiring in thermostat, tightened connections and test ran heat pump, heat pump putting 3° delta T out, outdoor air 15° will have to inspect refrigerant circuit once wether is above at least 30°. Inspected heat strip circuit and each circuit kicked on individually after going through all timers. Refrigerant pressure at 6psi
Furnace locked out on a 31 code. High Pressure switch open. Furnace has water damage underneath the drain trap. Found gasket leaking. Pulled and flushed trap. Tested pressure switches: high pressure switch rated 0.75", actual pressure readings averaged 1.6" Voltage drop across the contacts during operation is high, measured 0.5V drop. Low pressure switch rated 0.3", actual pressure readings stayed above .4" voltage drop across the contacts is 0.03V High pressure switch has weak contacts which is causing the furnace to not work properly. **Need to replace pressure switch kit under the factory parts warranty. Labor is not covered by the warranty.** Furnace began throwing 33 code, tripping high temperature limit. Furnace has a Honeywell 16x25x4 media cabinet. Builder incorrectly said it is OK to use 16x25x1 filters. 1" thick filters are more restrictive on airflow, which causes the furnace to overheat. We only recommend using Honeywell brand 16x25x4 MERV 8 filters. Gas pressur
Upon arrival inspected humidifier and discovered panel was decently built up with calcium deposits. After inspecting filter discovered it was in upside down, as well as the stopper for the plastic supply line is broken and allows humidifier supply line to go beyond the bracket and dump water outside of the panel. Quote replacement housing and perform brief inspection on furnace to verify no possible callbacks, discovered decently rusty burners, informed homeowners and offered to upgrade burners with the panel replacement. As well as add a 3” condensation trap for the intake pipe to preserve new burners as much as possible

Per Chuck, furnace was showing code 1 during no heat. Code one on furnace control means ignition retries exceeded(3). Upon arrival, furnace was not running, thermostat was set to heat at 70 ad was reading 70, and no codes on the furnace. Tested all components that take part in the ignition process. Tested inducer motor, Amp draw and induced draft within spec. Tested ignitor at 51ohms, and is getting proper 120v. Gas valve operated properly and gas pressure is within spec. Flame sensor is clean and was working properly at 2.5microamps. Thernostat called for heating and was satisfied twice for testing. Blower motor operated within Amp draw specifications. Air filter in good condition. Unable to pinpoint a problem with the furnace at this time. Failure could possibly be control board do to problems being intermitten with no rhyme or reason to be happening. System is properly operating in heat at this time.
Diagnose Trane communicating zone control system. Service code CFG 009.00 indicating zone sensor stat communication issues Trace communication issues to common/ground wires inside the communication relay panel in the basement Repair all bundled power wires in the relay panel, check and re-secure all other connections at the relay panel and zone control panel and master stat and zone sensor stat Reboot both thermostats and check for software updates Run test all equipment in multi-stage gas heating mode from both thermostats. Resurface flame sensor, Air filter is like new with additional on site. 20x25x1 plated Inspect outdoor air conditioner at homeowner special request * Condenser unit is essentially sitting in a hole in a raised flower bed below grade. Unit needs the 3" pad re-leveled with additional gravel stone and 3" or 6" heat pump pump up legs. * All compressor anchor down bolts have been removed or worked themselves out at some point and are laying in the bottom of the
4 systems. 2 hanging heaters and 2 heat/cool split systems, slit systems need a 16x25x4 and what appears to be a 20x25 1in or possibly a 2in. Unable to reach any units safely with a 12ft A-Frame ladder. Will need to quote maintenance plan cost and options for safely getting up to units.
Water furnace Envision NDV072 system is short cycling on the water flow service LED lock out light indicating freezing conditions at the FP1 sensor measuring the refrigerant temperature discharging the coax heat exchanger. Initial testing found 0 PSI on the ground loops. After recharging ground loops with house water pressure to 65 PSI the system continued to short cycle on water flow. Deeper investigation and refrigerant pressure testing shows the system is moderately low on refrigerant and will run on first stage heating but drops below the threshold and locks out on fp1 in high stage heat pump heating Electronic testing before recharges did not find any leaks at this time. Visible dark spots running down the air coil are possible indications of refrigerant oil leaking through the copper tubing Recharge refrigerant today and inject new calgon leak stop with ultraviolet dye. 88 oz new R410A Recommend follow up refrigerant leak search for the ultraviolet dye and running refrigerant p
Upon arrival inspected unit and discovered propane was shut off. Thermostat was removed from the wall as well. Replaced thermostat and performed brief cleaning to get system operating. Gas line has no shutoff inside. Customer wants a quote for ac/furnace replacement but is also interested in heat pump/geo alternative quotes due to being on propane. Plans to have additions put on the home so wants to ask about capacity and things.
Install the original Honeywell T6 Pro wifi thermostat (Was removed from initial construction installation. Homeowner had installed a Nest that was not compatible with the system due to ASHRAE fresh air damper.)
6 ton hydro heat brand geothermal non-pressurized closed loop alcohol system is running in very good condition. Two pump QT flow center antifreeze specific gravity tested at 0.978. refill non pressurized flow center with 1 gallon freshwater Water flesh condensate drain and trap, minor cleaning of entire system, run test heat pump and hp1 +aux. Confirm all heat strips running at 67 amps, water temperature drop across the heat exchanger is 34.8 - 30.2 All equipment is clean safe and ready for winter. Homeowner had no complaints about nest thermostat operation 16x25x1 - x2 air filters are in good condition and on schedule with homeowner. Construction Warranty - Inducer motor is very loud. Attempted to oil with WD40 to no improvement. Will need to replace inducer motor assembly under parts & labor warranty. Will order parts and have to return. Returned to replace inducer motor. With new motor installed, system ran quieter with mech room door open and furnace door off, than when old motor was installed with all doors closed. System is operating properly.

NDZ049 water furnace split system geothermal Carrier high efficiency 90 plus two pipe direct vent Heating system PMI, tune up, maintenance, safety inspection, filter rotation. Minor adjustments to vision pro 8000 thermostat at the homeowner's request. Multi-stage heat call set up and staging properly. Water furnace geothermal has zero relevant service codes and 28 power resets since the last computer scan. Pressurized ground loop at 21 PSI. No homeowner complaints about geothermal operation other than he feels it is running for a long period of time but IS cycling through the multi-stages and occasionally satisfying to turn off. Carrier gas furnace preventive maintenance inspection including minor dusting, hot surface ignition inspection, flame sensor resurface, drain trap removal and cleaning, multi-stage heat running test. All equipment is running in very good condition and within all parameters set by the geothermal and the carrier gas furnace. System is a clean safe and ready
Upon arrival inspected furnace and discovered no major concerns unit is operating properly and not tripping on any codes, inspected flue vent and discovered severely deteriorated pipe and recommend addressing vent pipe
Remove and replace inducer motor on basement system test run furnace and no issues arose after motor was replaced. Old motor was seizing
Upon arrival inspected basement unit handling master, discovered pressure switch error, upon further inspection discovered the inducer motor was seized and not operating. Lubricated motor to temporarily get unit back up and running and quote replacement motor. Quote for replacement was accepted, part is available but repair is not urgent, will call back and schedule a future repair within the next week. Inspected attic system and discovered no issues at furnace, inspected thermostat and discovered bad nest Tstat, test ran system with thermostat from a different system and system was operating properly with a different stat. A/c upstairs is inop and the filter hasn’t been installed for a while, possible dust obstruction on a/c coil.
Upon arrival, furnace is operating in heating mode but is operating at a high temperature rise due to dirty filter. System is tripping on high limit circuit fault before heating the house. Replaced air filter with new 16x25x4 air filter and test ran system. Manifold gas Pressures are within spec. Temperature rise is within specs. System is properly operating in heat.
Upon arrival the furnace doors were off and the door switch was deactivated erasing any storage service codes. Homeowner stated service code too maximum number of retries exceeded appeared several days ago but was resolved when husband cleaned the flame sensor. During today's breakdown the wife experienced service code 3 indicating pressure switch lockouts. Upon Re-energizing power to the system all equipment fired up and engaged in heat mode with no problems noted at this time. Burner compartment is clean and intake combustion pipe screen is clear. Exhaust vent is ejecting several feet. Disassemble inspect and clean high efficiency drain system hoses, trap, and drain pipe Temperature rise 63 to 103 Suspect possible freezing of propane regulators in the extreme cold below zero temperatures with -20 wind chills Propane tank is reading 20%
